Morgan Associates / Architects has collaborated with the landscape architectural firms of Environmental Planning and Design (*) and MTR (**) to design numerous structures for botanical gardens throughout the United States. These projects range from small garden structures to large conservatories. Our experience includes: The Climatron – Missouri Botanical Garden * St. Louis, Missouri This structure, originally designed by Buckminster Fuller, is a geodesic dome greenhouse filled with exotic tropical plants from around the world. Morgan Associates designed a new geodesic dome to replace the original deteriorated dome. This building continues to be considered one of the most recognisable structures in the world. Urban Projects and Office Structures

Morgan Associates has developed the reputation as a leader in urban retail, residential and commercial/office structures. The retail projects range from small storefront restorations in historic districts to large new-urbanist or lifestyle shopping centers. Our residential work includes several luxury loft projects throughout the city of Pittsburgh. Our architects have designed several office projects, including a new seven story office tower in Fort Meyers, FL for The DOC Corporation. Two separate schemes were designed; one that included a seventh floor residence for the owner of the company. Construction Documents have been completed for this project which is currently awaiting financing. In addition, our architects have designed several tenant fitouts for various medical offices, including Siegel and Portnoy Eye Care Associates in Pittsburgh, PA; West Penn Allegheny Health System’s Emergency Care and Doctor’s Offices in Irwin, PA; and Valor Health Care Doctor’s offices in Cranberry, PA. We designed a four story speculative masonry office building in Greentree, PA as well as a number of office layouts for tenants at Chatham Center and The Benedum-Trees Building in Pittsburgh. Residential

Morgan Associates has developed the reputation as a leader in urban residential projects.  Our residential work includes several luxury loft projects and high end residential renovations throughout the city of Pittsburgh. A partial list follows: School House Lofts South Side Pittsburgh, PA Renovation of existing Catholic elementary school into 12 luxury loft condominiums. 13th Street Commons South Side Pittsburgh, PA Renovation of existing brick warehouse into 9 units of luxury loft apartments. Park View Flats South Side – Pittsburgh, PA Historic restoration of a turn-of-the-century, 16-unit luxury apartment building. The building had been severely damaged by fire. This project was utilized Federal Historic Tax Credits. Fairfield Inn and Suites Slippery Rock, PA New 72 unit hotel for DOC Corporation. ( Currently in design phase ) 2004 East Carson Street South Side – Pittsburgh, PA Historic restoration of a turn-of-the-century East Carson Street building to house two new commercial spaces and one luxury apartment. 24th and Sarah Street South Side – Pittsburgh, PA New construction of  three unit apartment building with integral parking garage. Various Private Residential Projects Pittsburgh, PA Morgan Associates has designed over 30 private residential renovation, addition, and adaptive reuse projects throughout the City of Pittsburgh. Most of these projects have been completed as design/build projects with The Healey Company, a South Side construction and project management company.

Restaurants

Nakama Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar South Side, Pittsburgh, Pa Morgan Associates / Architects designed the historic preservation of this 24,000 square foot, turn-of-the-century building on the corner of 17th and Carson Streets in Pittsburgh’s historic South Side neighborhood. The restoration consisted of removing the brick placed in the original openings by previous owners, and installing new wood and glass storefronts along the Carson Street and 17th Street elevations. The restaurant is a 6,000 sf open plan hibachi style steak house with a large sushi bar and cocktail bar. Cool photo illustration by Dave DiCello Mantini’s Wood Fired - South Side Pittsburgh, PA South Side, Pittsburgh, Pa Mantini’s Wood Fired is a fine dining restaurant located on East Carson Street in Pittsburgh’s historic South Side neighborhood. Morgan Associates designed the renovation to two existing buildings, combining them into one space. The restaurant features an open display kitchen, high ceilings, large round booths and a cocktail bar the looks out onto busy East Carson Street.
