Nakama Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

South Side, Pittsburgh, Pa

Morgan Associates / Architects designed the historic preservation of this 24,000 square foot, turn-of-the-century building on the corner of 17th and Carson Streets in Pittsburgh’s historic South Side neighborhood. The restoration consisted of removing the brick placed in the original openings by previous owners, and installing new wood and glass storefronts along the Carson Street and 17th Street elevations. The restaurant is a 6,000 sf open plan hibachi style steak house with a large sushi bar and cocktail bar.
